Flat Cut Grade

Flat cut grade red oak wood veneer normally allows for some defects such as occasional pin knots and/ or mineral streaks. Red oak is a common American hardwood that is easy to work with and strong. Due to the lack of tylose in its cells flat cut red oak veneer has a coarse texture and an alternating tight to porous grain. Flat cut red oak wood veneer is often stained and accepts finishes well which accentuate the cathedral grain.

Rift Cut Grade

Red oak, rift cut veneer, also known as rift red oak wood veneer or rift sawn red oak veneer is typically a warm light tan-brown to a pinkish reddish brown color. Premium grade of rift red oak wood veneer is sometimes referred to as comb grain red oak veneer and has almost no defects. Red oak is a common American hardwood that is easy to work with and strong.
