Peel & Stick Hickory Veneer (Large)

Hickory is a hardwood that is hard and dense but relatively easy to work with. It is strong, with a medium coarse texture and moderately porous grain. Hickory veneer is typically a pale yellow beige and a contrasting creamy reddish light brown color. It’s often two toned, and the stark combination of light sapwood and dark heartwood is used for a naturally bold effect. Hickory wood veneer will accept stains and finishes well but is usually finished with a clear coat that preserves the warmth and beauty of the wood’s natural calico color.

Flat Cut Grade

Standard A grade flat cut hickory veneer commonly allows for some defects such as occasional pin knots and small mineral streaks.

Rustic Grade

Rustic hickory veneer commonly has defects such as sound knots, small worm tracks and other natural grain anomalies. Rustic hickory veneer will accept stains and finishes well but is often finished with a clear coat that preserves the warmth and beauty of the wood’s natural color. Rustic hickory veneer is often two toned and the stark combination of light sapwood and dark heartwood color variance between flitches is used for a naturally bold effect.
